Beginning[]
Terrarian Explorers started in the month of March. It was up for about a half hour until it was turned into a clan based server. Wolf went on the Terraria Online forums and posted a thread about starting the new server and asked if anyone

Terrarian Explorers, TerraNova's Previous Name
wanted to help me start it. A few people replied, but the one that was picked was rangerofthewest since he was the first to actually join the server. He helped the start-up and the growth of the server by listing groups.
Development[]
It was decided that the groups were to be Guest, Member, VIP, Moderator, Vice Admin, Admin, and Co-Owner. I think there was more, but I can't remember them. A few people started joined the server. While some stayed, others left. One that stayed was Braeden, who was possibly the first member of Terrarian Explorers. Another early member was Ravi, who was invited by Wolf since he knew him out-of Terraria.
Growth[]
Later on, more members start coming. After awhile, a Steam group was created for Terrarian Explorers (which is still running, but never gets updated). The "Player of the Week" feature was implemented in-game, as well as on Steam. The server was then the same for about a week, plugins being added little by little. Unfortunately, rangerofthewest was later fired for not doing his duty.
Gameplay[]
The server was turned into a RP server, then Freebuild, Then RP... repeat. Now, its a freebuild, and it's likely going to stay like that. In April, TN's website was created. At first, it was free, then Wolf had to start paying for it. Player donations are always accepted.
Name Change[]
Terrarian Explorers was planning to merge with another server for quite some time. However, the merge never happened. Before the "merge," it was suggested we create a new name for the conjoined community. Thus, TerraNova was born, suggested by a community member named Gideon.

Conclusion[]
TerraNova, to this day, is hosted by Nico (previously Wolf), has approximately 15-20 or more players a day (5-10 new players?), and is currently being developed everyday. Hopefully it will succeed with all it's future projects including this very Wiki.
